South American Cupuaçu
Cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum) is a remarkable tropical rainforest fruit related to cacao. Beneath its tough exterior shell, the cupuaçu fruit contains a creamy and delicious pulp that is loaded with nutrients.
One of its major components is theograndins, a powerful antioxidant of the polyphenol class unique to this fruit. Additionally, cupuaçu contains at least nine other antioxidants creating an array of free radical fighters.
